Heritage School Celebrates XIX Annual Day by students of Classes III – V, with a Spectacular Musical Bonanza – ‘Beauty and the Beast’

The Primary Wing of Heritage School was elated to mark its Annual Day by students of Classes III to V, on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at General Zorawar Singh Auditorium, University of Jammu. This Grand Event, filled with enchantment and wonder, revolved around the theme of ‘Beauty and the Beast’ reinforcing the values of love, friendship and the significance of recognizing the inner beauty within each individual.
The Chief Guest Ms Anoo Malhotra, Secretary Social Welfare, was received by Mr Sunil Gupta Chairman of the school and Mr Akash Pradhan the Principal. The charm of the event unfolded with presentation of saplings waiting to bloom, signifying the program's commencement followed by the traditional lighting-of-the-Lamp illuminating the path of knowledge and wisdom. Kaavisha Singh of Class V, Junior School Prefect, delivered an adorable welcome note, reflecting the innocence and charm of young students.

Mrs. Vandana Jasrotia, the Headmistress, extended a warm welcome to the august gathering setting the tone for the event. ‘The potential possibilities of any child are the most intriguing and stimulating in all creation‘ and it is the responsibility of a school to provide the young ones with opportunities. This forms the basis of the Annual Days of the Primary being celebrated on two separate days as almost 95% of the children enthusiastically take part in them. Leadership skill is one of the most relevant skills to be nurtured in today’s times. This was also emphasised as the Headmistress introduced members of the Junior School Student Council to the distinguished audience.
The Auditorium reverberated with the soulful rendition of the School Song, as the function began, followed by Medley of lively numbers by the Minstrels of Melody - the Junior School Choir. The main event unveiled mesmerizing cultural performances that brought the theme ‘Beauty and the Beast’ to life, enthralling the audience. The dance drama emphasised the idea that true friendship can transcend superficial appearances and social expectations. The programme not only highlighted their artistic abilities but also their teamwork, communication and self confidence.


Every session Heritage School felicitates students who excel in academics as well as in co-curricular activities by awarding them with All Rounder Trophy. During the prize-giving ceremony, the Chief Guest awarded the ' All-Rounder ' trophies for the session 2022-23 to Vivaan Bhardwaj (IIID), Dishita Choudhary (IIIE), Samardev Bansal (IVC) , Vivaan Gupta (IVD) , Shivya Mengi (VA) and Adamya Randhawa (VA).
Samardev Bansal (VC, 2023-24) received a special award for his outstanding sports achievement in Table Tennis. He represented the state at Sub-Junior Nationals and Inter-State Championship 2022-23, held in Kerala by the Table-Tennis Federation of India. . The 'Best House' trophy among Juniors was shared by Legacy and Tradition Houses, a testament to their collective efforts in co-curricular competitions.
The Chairman of the School, Mr. Sunil Gupta, presented the school memento as token of gratitude and appreciation to the Chief Guest, leaving her with cherished memories of this special day.
The Honorable Chief Guest Ms Anoo Malhotra, in her address, congratulated the performers for the excellent show. Having been a parent of the school herself, she praised the school’s commitment in providing a well rounded education and fostering an environment where students can thrive not only academically but also artistically and socially.She mentioned the significance of ancient wisdom by quoting from the Rigveda and emphasised that the stronger , the powerful and the intelligent beings should always strive to pull the weaker ones along with them.
The School's Vice Principal, Mrs. Rashmi Thakur, in her Vote of Thanks, expressed gratitude to the Chief Guest, other dignitaries and parents for their presence and support. She lauded the rigorous hard work of the teachers and months of sincere practice of the students contributing to the success of the function.
The event reached its culmination as everyone rose in respect as the National Anthem was played, instilling a profound sense of unity and pride in the hearts of all present. Heritage School extends its deep appreciation to the parents, students and all those who graced the event.
